Market Surveillance Department

The Market Surveillance Department (MS) role is to perform the Commission’s mandate in monitoring the market to ensure that commercial practices that may adversely or unfairly affect consumers and businesses are prevented or terminated.

The Overall duties of the Department are to:

  • Monitor the market for any unfair commercial practices,
  • Conduct investigations into commercial practices that may adversely affect the interest of Consumers or businesses,
  • Liaise with sectoral regulators and other relevant agencies in matters of common interest,
  • Conduct research, present findings and make recommendations to relevant bodies for the advancement of the mandate of the Commission.
