Consumer Affairs Department

The Consumer Affairs Department’s core function is to investigate complaints lodged by Consumers who have allegedly been harmed by the conduct of a Supplier of Goods or Services.

The overall duties of the Consumer Affairs Department are as follows;

  • Conduct investigations into complaints lodged by Consumers who have allegedly been harmed by the conduct of an enterprise.
  • Compilation of investigation report after an investigation.
  • Contribute ideas and participate in education and advocacy activities to educate the public on their rights and responsibilities under the provisions of the laws administered by the Commission.
  • Provide evidence as witnesses before the Fair Trading Tribunal.
