Complaint Taking Unit

The Commission's mandate is to protect consumers' interests from unfair trade practices by enforcing the FTA,2022. The Complaint taking unit which is under the supervision of the Legal Affairs Department is responsible for the complaints process prior to the assigning of cases for investigation, or closure in accordance with Section 34 of the FTA,2022.

The overall duties of the unit are to:

  • Receive complaints,
  • Handle exhibits,
  • Participate in the screening of cases,
  • Conduct Mediation or refer cases to relevant authorities,
  • Provide advice and maintain complaints records.
