Name: Mr. Francis Lebon

Mr. Lebon started his career at the Central Bank of Seychelles and held the post of Senior Domestic Debt Officer in the Public Debt Unit. Mr. Lebon was the Trade and Sales Manager at Barclays Bank of Seychelles before joining the Fair Trading Commission in December 2010 as Senior Competition Analyst and promoted to Director of competition in January 2012.
In November 2013, Mr. Lebon was promoted to the post of Deputy CEO by the Board with the main role/function to oversee the operation of the Fair Trading Commission. On the 01st October 2015 the Fair Trading Act was amended to include a Deputy CEO. Mr. Lebon was appointed in the post.
Mr. Lebon graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Economics, Finance & Banking at the University of Portsmouth in 2007. In 2012, he enrolled on a Postgraduate Distance Learning Program with Kings College London which he successfully completed and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law in 2013. Mr. Lebon also holds a Diploma in Accounting from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in the UK and successfully completed ACCA Part 1.

Mr. Lebon is currently following an MBA in Business Administration with the University of West Scotland through the University of Seychelles.


Name: Mrs. Natalie Edmond

Mrs. Edmond began her career in November 2005 as a Senior Statistician at the National Bureau of Statistics. She remained with the Bureau for a period of about 5 ½ years following which she moved to the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment as an economist for a brief moment. In January 2012, Mrs. Edmond joined the Fair Trading Commission as a Competition Analyst and was later promoted to the post of Senior Competition Analyst in September 2012.

In November 2013, Mrs. Edmond was given the responsibility of overseeing the Investigation and Market surveillance Department within the Commission. She was promoted to Principal Analyst in April 2014 and oversaw the newly named Competition and Market Surveillance department. In July 2017, she was appointed as Deputy CEO of the Commission for a duration of 3 years.

In terms of qualifications, Mrs. Edmond graduated with a BA econ (Hons) in Economics and Social Policy at the University of Manchester in 2005. Furthermore, during her ,years at the National Bureau of Statistics Mrs. Edmond attended several short courses including that of Statistics for National Accounts and also Survey Methodology and Sampling. Mrs. Edmond also received an award for an outstanding paper written for the Africa Symposia on Statistical Development. During her time with the Commission, Mrs. Edmond has also completed a Post Graduate diploma in Economics for Competition Law from Kings College in England via long distance learning in the year 2016.


Name: Mr. Neddy Padayachy

In 1999 Mr Padayachy joined the Public Sector in the Ministry of Health, Department of Public Health, specialized in Health Impact Assessment Unit.  He worked under the supervision of Doctor Patrick Herminie who at the time was the Director for Environmental Health Section.

In 2006 Mr Padayachy joined the Youth Health Center where he worked as a Senior Health Educator and Promotion officer in the Ministry of Health and thereon followed his advanced studies in Health Promotion and Youth Development. In 2010 he started his Master in Leadership and Strategy in the Seychelles Young Leaders Programme with the National University of Ireland for 2 years. The degree covered 6 subjects (Human Resources, Leadership, Organisation and strategy, Finance, Economics and Research method) where he achieved a second class honors.

In July 2010, Mr Padayachy followed a course in Washington DC, as a participant from the Seychelles Young leaders Programme.

In August 2010 he became the Director of Youth Services Section within the Seychelles National Youth Council under the supervision of Ms Idith Alexander. The employee was responsible for the services of youth development programme / research on national level.

In 2013 Mr Padayachy was working as the Loans Manager at the Small Business Financing Agency (Ministry of Finance Trade and Investment). He was in charge of the loans department and supervising 6 staffs in the preparation of loans cases for approval.

In January 2014 Mr. Padayachy joined the Fair Trading Commission as the Senior Compliance Officer heading the Consumer department.
He is now the Principal Analyst in the Consumer Department.


Name: Mr. Erol Sophola

Post: Principal Analyst

Mr. Sophola started his career in June 2014 at the Seychelles Revenue Commission and held the post of Enforcement Supervisor in the Enforcement Department. In January 2015, Mr. Sophola was appointed as the Senior Prosecution Officer in the Prosecution Unit within the Enforcement Department of the Seychelles Revenue Commission. In July 2015, Mr. Sophola joined the Fair Trading Commission as a Senior Analyst in the Investigation & Market Surveillance Department.

In August 2017, Mr. Sophola was promoted to Principal Analyst with the responsibility of overseeing the Competition Department.

In terms of qualifications, Mr. Sophola graduated with an LLB (Hons) in Law with the University of London in 2014 through the University of Seychelles. Mr. Sophola in 2014 took part in the annual Moot Competition organized by the University of Seychelles, where he was runner up but was awarded best mooter. Whilst at the Seychelles Revenue Commission, Mr. Sophola had a short attachment at the Attorney General’s Office.

In 2015, Mr. Sophola successfully pass the Bar vocational Course administered by the Seychelles Judiciary. Furthermore, in October 2016, Mr. Sophola completed the Young African Leadership Initiation (YALI) course in leadership which is part of Mandela Washington Fellows program.


Name: Mrs. Frederika Confait-Poussou

Post: Senior Analyst – Market Surveillance Department                                                                                                     

Mrs. Confait-Poussou started her career with Four Seasons Resort Seychelles in 2013 as a Manager-in-Training. In June 2014, she joined 7° South Ltd as a Product Consultant where she also had the responsibility of overseeing the department in the absence of the manager. In April 2016, Mrs. Confait-Poussou joined the Fair Trading Commission as Analyst in the Competition & Market Surveillance Department.

In July 2017, Mrs. Confait-Poussou was given the responsibility of overseeing the Market Surveillance Department and in January 2018 was promoted to Senior Analyst.

In terms of qualifications, Mrs. Confait-Poussou graduated with a First Class Honors Degree in Business Studies in International Hotel Management, a dual degree obtained from her studies at the Seychelles Tourism Academy and Shannon College of Hotel Management, National University of Ireland. Mrs Confait-Poussou was also awarded the overall best former for Business and Finance subjects and the Presidents Cup as the most outstanding performer. Additionally, she was awarded the commendable University Performance award by the Government of Seychelles.


Name: Mrs. Sylvie Faure

Post: Senior Legal Officer – Legal Affairs Department

Mrs. Sylvie Faure holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree with honours from the University of Mauritius.

She began her career at the Attorney General’s Office and worked there until 2012.

She has also served as a Board Member of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation and on the National Steering Committee and the Impact Mitigation and Human Rights Protection Working Group for the National Strategic Framework 2012 – 2016 for HIV and AIDS.

Prior to joining the Fair Trading Commission, Mrs. Faure worked as a Legal Consultant in Beijing, China.


Name: Ms. Tania Morel

Post: Human Resources & Budget Management Personnel

Ms. Morel is pursuing her career in the HR Department at the Commission after 4 years of pursuing her studies at the University of London via the University of Seychelles. Ms. Morel was appointed on the 01st July and she is responsible to develop and review relevant Commission HR procedure and policies. She also deals with remuneration issues and staff salaries, develops training plans, ensure proper implementation of the Performance Management System and ensure the welfare of the staff members.

In terms of qualifications, Ms. Morel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration specializing in International Business. Ms. Morel holds her Bachelor of Science with a Second Class Honors Pass.


Name: Ms. AnnashantaCanaya

Post: Senior Analyst- Consumer Services Department

Ms. AnnashantaCanaya started her career as a Public Health Officer in 2006 at the Ministry of Health.
She remained with the Ministry for 10 years and the her last post was in the Specialized Food Control unit at the Public Health Department.
In terms of qualifications , Ms. Canaya has a Diploma in Environmental Health Science.
In February 2016 , she joined Fair Trading Commission as a Senior Analyst with the responsibility of overseeing the Consumer Services Department.
